Les Basses Réunies

Les Basses Réunies (Early Music Ensemble)

Blandine Rannou, Bruno Cocset, Pascal Monteilhet and Richard Myron all studied at renowned international music schools: Paris Conservatoire (CNSM), Schoia Cantorum in Basle, Juilliard School in New York. They have appeared as continuo players or soloists with many European Baroque ensembles.

In 1996, taking advantage of ten years experience working together and creating their own musical identity as regular members of II Seminario Musicale. they formed Les Basses Réunies, an instrumental ensemble composed (according to requirements) of: harpsichord, positive organ, cello, basse de violon, theorbo, lute, baroque guitar, double bass and violone. These may be joined by higher instruments (violins, flutes, cornetts, voices, etc.). Making full use of the many possibilities afforded by the various instrumental combinations to create a very rich and colourful sound, the ensemble aims to promote the repertoire that is specific to bass instruments.
