Swiss pianist Andreas Haefliger was born into a musical family in Berlin in 1962; his father was the tenor Ernst Haefliger (1919-2007), who was particularly known for his Bach and Mozart and recorded extensively for Deutsche Grammophon. Andreas was educated at the Juilliard, where successes included the Gina Bachauer Memorial Scholarship; by the mid-1990s he had established an international career as a concerto soloist, song pianist, recitalist and chamber musician, and continues to perform and record in all of these capacities.
