Cédric Tiberghien was born in 1975 and trained at the Conservatoire de Paris; early competition successes included prizes at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in 1995 and the Long-Thibaut-Crespin Competition three years later.

He records regularly on Hyperion and Harmonia Mundi, both as a soloist and with his regular duo-partner the Russian violinist Alina Ibragimova; his discography includes the complete Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven Violin Sonatas and works by Szymanowski, Ravel and Franck with Ibragimova, Bartók’s Mikrokosmos (shortlisted for a Gramophone Award in 2017), numerous acclaimed Chopin albums, Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Jirí Belohlávek, and concertos by Théodore Dubois with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Andrew Manze as part of Hyperion’s The Romantic Piano Concerto series.
