The French cellist Gautier Capuçon was born into a musical family in Chambéry in 1981, and studied in Paris and Vienna, where his teachers included Heinrich Schiff. He regularly collaborates with his violinist brother Renaud, with whom he has recorded music by Brahms (including the Double Concerto), Schumann, Schubert, Ravel, Fauré and Saint-Saëns.
