Karita Mattila, Yehudi Menuhin & Yutaka Sado “Menuhin, with his thoughtful, measured tones, is the opposite of most narrators in the Kaddish Sypmphony, but the emotion is conveyed just as intensely. Karita Mattila is a radiant soprano soloist and the choir sings brilliantly…In the Chichester Psalms the choir and orchestra seem more at home in Bernstein’s jazzy syncopations, giving a dazzling performance, vividly recorded, with Joseph Mills…a fine treble soloist.” Penguin Guide 2008 |

| | | Yehudi Menuhin - The Swiss Years
This is a DVD documentary focusing on Menuhin’s love for Switzerland. He famously took up Swiss citizenship and also began his now world famous festival in his chosen home town of Saanen. The film features interviews, archive film and rehearsal footage. There is the added pleasure of a bonus DVD which includes interviews with his children, some rare home movie footage of Menuhin as a young man in 1929, alongside more performance and rehearsal footage. A very informative and enjoyable production very highly recommended. |
