Isaac Albéniz

Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909)

Spanish pianist and composer.

As a child prodigy he started performing at the age of 4, was rejected by the Paris conservatoire at 9 for being too young and almost immediately ran away alone to Central American and the United States, paying his passage by performing, before returning to Spain.

He later turned to composing, mainly for the piano, and is best remembered for the suite Iberia.
