Roberto Fabbriciani (flute), Ciro Scarponi (clarinet), Ingrid Ade, Monika Bayr-Ivenz, Monika Brustmann (sopranos), Susanne Otto (alto), Christine Theus (cello), Giancarlo Schiaffini (tuba) & Alvise Vidolin, Luigi Nono (live electronics) Roberto Cecconi A Pierre (Boulez) is a form of exploration of the dynamic range
that oscillates between ppppp and p.Throughout the work harmonics,
hisses and wafts of air; sounds that elude definition, are added to the complexity of live electronics. In
October 1981, in the heyday of Solidarity, Nono received a commission for a music festival in Warsaw. On
September 13th General Jaruzelsky seized power. The festival was cancelled and Luigi Nono lost contact with
the friends who had invited him, which only stirred his desire to complete the work - the result was Quando
stanno morendo. He dedicated it to 'the Polish friends and comrades who resist in exile, in hiding, in jail, at
work - who continue to hope amidst hopelessness, who continue to hope despite their disbelief'.The course
of Post-Prae-Ludium per Donau is fixed in all its details, but the score is intended only to be a basic guide for the
performer. The technical means of the six-cylinder tuba give the performer freedom to go beyond this guide
and create random sound-events. | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |

| | | Nono - Complete works for solo tapeWorld Premiere Recording
The source of the music on this recording is a series of original
tapes that survive in excellent conditions and are preserved in
the archive of the former Studio di Fonologia at the RAI in Milan. "This two-CD set collects all the trailblazing electronic music Nono assembled between 1960 and 1974, using original tapes stored by Italian Radio in Milan. Returning to these works after many years I'm struck by the clarity of Nono's intentions, but also by their psychological depth and the brilliance of their execution." | | | Strauss - Nono - Wagnerr
Mikhail Nikiforov (Bass), Alexander Yudenkov (Tenor), Ulrike Becker (Alto), Torsten Müller (Bass), Eva-Maria Schappé (Soprano) Percussionists of Strasbourg, Southwest German Radio Vocal Ensemble, Stuttgart, Marcus Creed This recording presents three different, utterly contrasting responses to the quest for expression and the solution to the old problem of how to merge text and music into a unity. The common theme linking these compositions, "The Passion and Pains of Love", has been wrested from the texts of these choral works: they are poetic declarations of love, descriptions of nature with erotic and intimate imagery, poems that speak of unfulfilled yearning and breaking hearts. Their poetic quality opens a range of expression every bit as varied as the three musical settings they stimulated. | | | Usually despatched in 3 - 4 working days. |
