Coming Soon, Vaughan Williams from Andrew Manze and the RLPO

Vaughan Williams from Andrew Manze and the RLPOPerhaps better known as a violinist and specialist in historically-informed performance practice, Andrew Manze is also no stranger to the baton; he has recorded a set of Brahms' symphonies, Beethoven's Eroica and numerous instalments in Hyperion's Romantic Piano Concerto and Romantic Cello Concerto series.

We now hear that in partnership with Onyx Records, Manze is preparing to record a complete cycle of the symphonies of Vaughan Williams – beginning with No. 2, the London, to be released in October 2015. One to watch for fans of British music of the Twentieth century!

Andrew Manze as conductor

At the helm of the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Manze shows a side that owes little or nothing to his 'period-performance' specialism; these are full-blooded and emotional performances.

Available Formats: 3 SACDs, MP3, FLAC

Intriguingly coupled with the Contredanses in which the theme of the symphony's finale first appeared, this is a fresh and accomplished account of the Eroica.

Available Formats: MP3, FLAC

Manze leads the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra accompanying Cédric Tiberghien in a selection of concertante works for the piano by Théodore Dubois.

Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra do the honours again, here with Gemma Rosefield the soloist in Stanford's relatively unknown Cello Concerto; among the other works on the disc are two premiere recordings.

Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC
