This is the first volume of Hänssler CLASSIC’s complete recording of Schumann’s piano works, a project that has not been accomplished before. Each CD will feature at least one world premiere recording. Here we have the premiere of Presto possible in F minor.

Fritz Wunderlich’s voice had an unmistakable sheen and a powerful radiance which breathed life into each and every performance. His deep understanding of the texts he was singing gave his interpretations a sense of presence rarely found in other singers. This recording dates from 1964 and is one of the most beautiful “Müllerin” cycles ever recorded; to be treasured by all Wunderlich fans.

This is the latest release of recordings of the complete orchestral works of Rihm and these are World Premiere Recordings. All the music was performed and recorded under the supervision of the composer. The SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg have premiered many of the composer’s major works.

Sylvian Camberling has established himself as being sympathetic to Berlioz’s music; his recordings and concert performances of his works have been enthusiastically received. A new recording of Harold en Italie, coupled with some of Berlioz’s favourite orchestral works from his operas.

Norrington’s excursions into the Classical and Romantic and Symphonic repertoire have been well documented and now he and his Stuttgart colleagues turn their attention to Haydn. Haydn’s last twelve symphonies rank among the greatest achievements of western music and continue to inspire.
