Among Bach’s published works we find the four-part Clavier Übung anthology designated for both harpsichord (parts I, II and IV) and organ (part III). The first collection, published in 1731, contains Six Partitas for the harpsichord composed “for the recreation of the amateur’s spirit”. Few contemporary musicians are able to play complete this collection that equal control of organ and harpsichord, but Benjamin Alard, first prize winner of the Bruges harpsichord competition and of the Freiburg Bach competition is one. The four parts will be released by Alpha before 2013.
