Edmund Wylfing (ca. 844-870), Saxon king of East Anglia, virgin and martyr, was the first patron-saint of England. The Italian ensemble La Reverdie brings to life again his story through a medieval liturgical drama, in three parts: life, passion and miracles. A re-release with new packaging and new artwork of one of the most successful recordings of the Italian ensemble: Press Awards: 10 - Répertoire; Diapason d'Or. In 1986 two pairs of sisters from Italy founded the Medieval ensemble La Reverdie: the name, derived from a poetic genre that celebrates the return of Spring, reveals the principal trait of a group that for over 20 years has captivated audiences and critics alike for the variety in its approach to the vast and varied musical repertoire of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
