Yvonne is the final chapter of a quartet of contemporary operas, the fruit of a long-term collaboration between Belgian composer Philippe Boesmans and Swiss dramatist and director Luc Bondy. The work is based on the brilliant anti-conformist theatre of Gombrowicz, and was awarded Diapason d’or in the December issue of Diapason.

On CD Boesman's eclectic and attractive score comes to the fore, with plenty of sources of reference, from Strauss and Koechlin to Bernstein...Mireille Delunsch's spell-binding lyrical outpouring in the final Act as the Queen is especially memorable, while Paul Gay and Yann Beuron are also very impressive.
