“…The Will-o'-the-Wisps Go to Town (2003-4) is a sizeable work in a prologue, 10 sections and epilogue for solo singers, narrator, children's and adults' choirs and orchestra… This performance, expertly directed by Thomas Dausgaard and beautifully recorded, catches all the nuances of this often delightful score. Sørensen's The Little Mermaid... presents a musical impression of the tale rather than a straight depiction. A radiant score running for almost 27 minutes, it is beautifully orchestrated and the more unified of the two works. A marvellous live performance, with Inger Dam-Jensen and Gert Henning-Jensen the exemplary soloists, splendidly recorded.”
