Prince Siegfried celebrates his 21st birthday. He will soon have to choose a spouse. Before taking a
decision, the Prince goes hunting… In the forest, near the lake bank, he encounters white swans that will
soon transform into young women. Soon enough, Siegfried get fascinated by the swans’princess :
Odette, who seems quite affraid. However the Prince makes her feel his love and desire to help her : he
swears her eternal faithfulness.
The day after, a fastuous ball is taking place at the castle. There appears Rotbart (the one who put a
spell on the princess so that she would transform into a swan) who introduces his daughter Odile to the
Prince… The young woman looks exactly like Odette. The Prince get charmed, thinking she is her
beloved princess, and promises her - his unconditional love. When Siegfried understands his mistake he
goes back to the lake where the swans are crying over his treason. |
