Beethoven - Symphony No. 3

Recorded live from a concert in the Moscow Conservatoire in 2006, the orchestra conformed to the norm for Beethoven’s time; seven 1st violins, six 2nd violins, five violas, four cellos and three double basses which provided a more ‘soloistic’ opportunity for the woodwind parts and results in a beautiful, intimate acoustic. Conducted by Rudin. This CD also presents a fascinating insight into Kraft’s Cello Concerto in C which is Beethovenesque in style at times although more recently, Haydn’s famous Concerto in D Maj was attributed to Kraft.
