Rusalka is probably the best known work by Alexander Dargomyzhsky and here it is performed by the best of Russian artists, conducted by Svetlanov. Dargomyzhsky’s operas are distinguished by the finesse with which he personified human characters and his songs demonstrate his skills of observation and his psychological analysis.
