Folke Isaksson is one of Sweden's better-known writers and poets. Från mörker till ljus [From Darkness to Light] is a book of poems paying tribute to the mural paintings by Albertus Pictor and the magnificent altarpiece of the church in Gammelstad. When Peter Mattei, who himself grew up in the shadows of the great church in Gammelstad, sings the poems, alongside orchestration by the Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra, the result is a sonic richness that turns from Darkness to Light into a rare spiritual experience.
