Andrew Kennedy has established himself as one of the best and brightest young tenors performing today; as a leading exponent of song (winning the song prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2005), and by performing regularly in opera houses around the world. This new recital disc contains a sumptuous selection of arias by Gluck, Mozart and Berlioz, and is accompanied by London’s Southbank Sinfonia, conducted by Simon Over.

“His voice has grown in strength, well beyond the stereotypical 'English tenor' bleat...he has acquired a clarion ring at the top that equips him for Tamino, and bravura roles like Gluck's Achilles. Indeed he's mastered the Gluck style convincingly, bringing out the expressiveness within the classical frame”

“It is virtuoso territory and beset with challenges, ably met by Andrew Kennedy, who on the whole is well suited to the repertoire...Kennedy's voice...is always clear in definition and often, as in Pylades' aria and Tito's three solos, gracefully poised. And it is good to hear him in an operatic recital for a change.”

“Andrew Kennedy’s attractive collection avoids the obvious...Kennedy’s bright, firm tenor is equal to the demands of Gluck’s haute-contre parts...Simon Over and the Southbank Sinfonia are crystal-clear accompanists”
