To mark the 50th Anniversary of the composer’s death Timpani is proud to release the Piano Quintet and Hasards. The quintet is one of the all time greats of the genre and is so typical of Schmitt’s writing. It is concession free, opulent, ardently grabbing the listener. Coupling Hasards, a work written in 1939, with the Quintet certainly marks this release out as an ‘audible delight’ of rarely recorded chamber works of Florent Scmitt.
