BIS - New Sibelius Complete Edition

Now that BIS are reaching the end of their huge Sibelius adventure, plans have crystallized regarding how they will present the BIS Sibelius Edition as a whole:

Starting in 2007, the 50th anniversary of Sibelius’s death in 1957, we will release a 13-volume uniform edition of all the music that the great master ever created – from the symphonies and tone poems to chamber works and songs. The edition will also include rare original versions and world première recordings of works from his youth. The grand total of 60-something discs will contain previously released, as well as new material, and be packaged in boxes, containing 4-6 discs grouped according to genres. These boxes will be released over a period of 3-4 years.
