Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973) was the most important German speaking lyric poet of the 1950s and 60s, particularly in Austria, where the character and work of Bachmann are at the centre of contemporary cultural interest. On this disc, the Haydn Trio Eisenstadt has recorded contemporary compositions based on texts by Bachmann. These works are dedicated to her memory and to her work, particularly her “writing against the war.”
