The Most Serene Republic of Venice was a unique example of fecundity in several arts: painting, sculpture, architectureand music. Vivaldi, Marcello, Platti, Galuppi and Pescettiproduced works that carried Italy to the very centre of themusical world of the 18th century. This DVD presents some ofthe masterpieces for harpsichord of these and otherless-known musicians like Turrini, Grazioli and Bertoni, inthe virtuosic interpretation of Michele Barchi, inspired bythe historical atmosphere, strongly evocative of a truly legendary period in European musical life.
