Like his father and grand father before him, Puccini began his musical career as organist at S Pietro Somaldi in his home town of Lucca. These pieces arranged by the composer himself, are given passionate performances by Liuwe Tamminga on the original instrument played by the great opera maestro in his youth. “No original organ works here, but several of his early little pieces work well on organs at Lucca and Farneta that Puccini played in his youth.
