Fabrizio Haim Cipriani (violin/conductor), Davide Monti (violin), Guido De Vecchi, (viola), Marcello Scandelli (cello), Maurizio Less (violin) Ensemble Il Falcone: Composed, from what musicologists have been able to ascertain, around 1740, Galuppi’s Concerti a quattro are an organic collection with a uniform style, characterised by fine contrapuntal writing - a heritage of sacred music - and pleasant melodic lines - derived from the operatic tradition. These seven concertos are noteworthy for the wealth of music ideas and originality in their exposition: although dialogues between parts still make use of the imitative practice typical of ”old” contrapuntal writing, we can already envision in them classical stylistic features and symmetries, blended in with wisdom and creativity. In the reading of the excellent Ensemble Il Falcone, conducted by Fabrizio Cipriani, the use of basso continuo underlines, each time, the work’s ”orchestral” or quartet-like character. | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |
