L’Art du Bois presents a new CD of musical treasures from the pens of the most varied composers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, all of whom worked in England. The renaissance and Baroque instrumental pieces collected here are performed by the lively and talented ensemble L’Art du Bois. “[L'Art du Bois's] performances are highly sophisticated, with a combination of energetic virtuosity and expressive sensitivity that only absolute technical security and a sure understanding of historical performance practices allow” International Record Review, January 2011 | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |

Susan Hamilton (soprano) & Patrick Denecker (flutes & conductor) La Caccia After having explored Morley's First Book of Consort Lessons, the sole publication of pieces of the time for the 'brocken consort', La Caccia now turns to one of the principal manuscript sources of music for the ensemble that was so much appreciated in England at the beginning of the 17th-century. Pieces and arrangements by Richard Allison and Daniel Bachiler form the greater proportion of the music found in the manuscript, whilst the musicians of La Caccia have also added a few vocal pieces to the programme, these being accompanied by the instruments of this characteristically British ensemble. Once again we may appreciate the freshness of the dances and the nostalgia that English composers of the time so enthusiastically cultivated. | | | (also available to download from $10.50) | Usually despatched in 4 - 5 working days.
