Ignaz Moscheles (1794–1870) was a Bohemian composer, piano virtuoso and a very close friend of Mendelssohn. This recording offers a rare chance to hear the stylish and romantic music of this very prolific composer, well-known and respected in his time but more recently overshadowed by his more famous contemporaries.
