This release is the FIRST COMPLETE EDITION of Paganini’s works for violin and orchestra and will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the record collection of the many admirers of the great Genovese violinist.

The main performers are two of the finest interpreters of Paganini, Massimo Quarta and Salvatore Accardo, who are not only impeccable violinists from a technical point of view but also refined readers of Paganini’s music.

The Violin Concertos are a philological version, based on the original manuscripts, recorded for Dynamic after several years of research. Concerto No. 1 in particular is performed in its original tonality of E flat Major (rather than D Major), with the violin tuned half a tone higher. All six Concertos are performed on Paganini’s violin.

As a bonus, CD 8 contains two Concertos (nos. 1 & 4) performed by two of the greatest 20th-century interpreters of Paganini’s music: Yehudi Menuhin and Ruggiero Ricci.
