The repertoire chosen for this recording belongs to the anthology of Polish music dating back to the end of the 18th Century. Arrangements were influenced mostly by performance criteria concerning an instrument, which resulted in a set works suitable for clavichord, harpsichord and pianoforte. The practice applies to a common habit at the time when a composer did not specify an instrument and keyboards were interchangeable. Urszula Bartkiewicz brings these delightful works to life in the first of a two CD series.

“In every case Kryger, excellently accompanied by Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska and very well recorded, proves a fine interpreter deploying a wide range of tone and pervasively clear declamation.”
