This disc was commissioned for the 2004-2005 exhibition of Raphael at the National Gallery in London. It includes performances by the leading British renaissance performers. Masterpieces of sacred and secular music of the Renaissance trace the life of Raphael from the courts of Urbino, his birthplace, to Florence, where music and art both flourished under the patronage of the Medici, to his final years working at the papal court in Rome.
