In the history of piano music, there are few examples of a cycle as vast as that of Iberia, an absolute masterpiece of Franco-Spanish music, written by the composer Isaac Albéniz at the start of the 20th century in Paris.
Today the score stands out as the expression of a European composer who returned to a secret garden, that of Spain, his dream. Iberia is here performed by Jean-François Heisser, a specialist in this repertoire.
This CD-book incorporates photography to open the experience of Spanish music to a more universal perspective. Isabel Muñoz examines the unique features of her native land from flamenco and tango, to bullfighting and architecture.

“Jean-François Heisser has been very well recorded, makes the piano sing and opens with enchanting accounts of "Evocacion" and "El puerto". The bells ring out joyously in "El Corpus in Sevilla".” Gramophone Magazine, October 2010
