| | | Haydn: Sonatas for Violin & Piano
Elena Denisova (violin) & Alexei Kornienko (piano) An unusual world premiere: these eight "sonatas for violin and piano" by Joseph Haydn are not original works, but contemporary adaptations (possibly made by Haydn himself) of piano sonatas, divertimenti and string quartets by the master. According to the violinist Elena Denisova they are nonetheless "absolutely independent works of art." Elena Denisova was born in Moscow and began learning the violin at the age of four. She later gained her concert diploma at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire. Initially she worked in Russia but was later able to tour and now performs at many festivals. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to Modernism has made many recordings. She and Alexei Kornienko founded the Gustav Mahler Ensemble. | | | (also available to download from $21.00) | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. (Available now to download.) |
