Swedish composer Emil Sjögren is known outside his native country (if at all) as a late romantic miniaturist, but this CD (Volume 1 of a set of three discs devoted to his music for violin and piano) shows him also to be a master of sonata form, without sacrificing any of the melodic charm which characterises his song-writing.
