The Six volumes of the 16th Century Leiden Choirbooks have come to light only recently and all the performances from this project are world premiere recordings. The music is first rate and includes works by Crequillon, Richafort and Gombert. Much research has gone into preparing the music for performance.

Gramophone Magazine

January 2011

“From its inception, the Egidius Kwartet have had a knack for enterprising programmes...The only possible reproach might be a too consistent restraint in approach; but with voices of such suavity, that's easily overlooked.”

International Record Review

March 2011

“the performances are exemplary, with lively tempos, alert phrasing and refined textural sensitivity. While the motets are delightful, the ensemble really shines through the breadth of vision and mastery of large structure it displays in the two Masses...The Leiden Choirbooks recording project promises much with such serious-minded and highly accomplished scholar-musicians.”
