Armenian sacred music is one of the most ancient branches of Christian culture. Yerkanian is one of the best known and distinctive representatives of Contemporary Armenian music. He became the director of Tagaran in 1987 and since then the ensemble’s repertoire has included wonderful renditions of sacred hymns and it has received worldwide recognition. All the arrangements are by Yerkanian.
