Ponchielli: Il Convegno - divertimento per duo clarinetti

For more than twenty years the Ensemble Villa Musica has devoted itself to the discovery of rarities from the chamber repertoire. Its outstanding instrumentalists have repeatedly succeeded in returning long-forgotten pearls of chamber music to the spotlight. This release features a woodwind portrait of the Italian composer Amilcare Ponchielli.

This CD features Romantic music for two clarinets and the soloists are Walter and Anne Boeykens, father and daughter. Anne studied at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Antwerp and was a member of her father’s class.
