Jan de Winne (baroque flute), Marten Boeken (viola), Roel Dieltiens (cello) & Shalev Ad-El (pianoforte) The quartets Wq 93-95, included here were written in 1788, the year of C P E Bach’s death and show that he was moving toward the classical style. The contrasting themes and independent treatment of all the parts point the way to Beethoven’s piano trios.
