Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Emmanuel Villaume Following on from the songs (1C1030) and chamber music (1C1167), comes a release of undoubtedly some of the finest orchestral works of Maurice Emmanuel. Besides the fine symphonies the disc also brings two world premiere recordings to the ears of the listener - Overture for a merry tale & Suite Française. The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra is superbly led by conductor Emmanuel Villaume, on board for his first symphonic disc, and doubtless not his last. “[Emmanuel] seems to have belonged to no particular camp other than his own.
