Bizet’s one-act operetta Le Docteur Miracle was a rst-prize winning composition at a contest organised by Jacques Offenbach, and it premiered in 1857 when Bizet was just 18 years old. On this rare recording, conductor Bruno Armaducci directs a stellar all-French cast headed by the celebrated lyric coloratura Christiane Eda-Pierre, Robert Massard, a leading baritone of the second half of the 20th century, and splendid tenor Rémy Corazza.
