Newly-commissioned music from the composers of classic popular TV/Film music such as Downton Abbey, Brideshead Revisited, Shakespeare In Love, Gladiator, Poirot and The Promise. New Water Music for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant - world premiere. As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, eleven of Britain's most renowned film-composers have created a new work using for inspiration the original titles of Handel's Water Music. This new suite of music will be performed live for the first time as part of The Thames Pageant, the historic event celebrating Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee which is anticipated to have a worldwide audience in excess of one billion people. The composers, who each contribute one movement, are Anne Dudley (an Oscar-winner for THE FULL MONTY), Graham Fitkin (described by The Independent in 1998 as 'one of the most important of our younger composers'), Howard Goodall (creator of the themes for BLACKADDER, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY and MR. BEAN), Gavin Greenaway (conductor of over 50 film scores including GLADIATOR and THE DARK KNIGHT), Christopher Gunning (creator of the famous Martini commercial and the theme from POIROT), Adrian Johnston (BRIDESHEAD REVISITED and BECOMING JANE), John Lunn (DOWNTON ABBEY), Julian Nott (WALLACE & GROMIT), Jocelyn Pook (EYES WIDE SHUT and BRICK LANE), Stephen Warbeck (an Oscar-winner for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) and Debbie Wiseman (THE PROMISE and LAND GIRLS).

“This official soundtrack to the recent festivities has an unashamedly populist slant, David Parry and the LPO presenting what are effectively a succession of musical figureheads commensurate with the celebration of a national figurehead.”
