The Australian Brandeburg Orchestra get together each year to celebrate Christmas and Artistic Director Paul Dyer has committed some of the music created to disc.

It contains the usual eclectic mix of repertoire, performed by these first class musicians in their unique way.

Their previous release was universally critically acclaimed and we expect this one to generate similar reviews.

This new album recollects and celebrates some of the choral music heard on royal occasions during the lifetime of HM Elizabeth II. The music chosen reflects the personal choices and commission by the Royal Family for weddings, funerals, and anniversaries.

Newly orchestrated exclusively for this recording, it reminds us of the event that captivated the attention of the nation last year. The CD also includes a new arrangement for unaccompanied choir of the Londonderry Air to the text I would be true, and an orchestration of Schubert’s beautiful Psalm 23 - The Lord is my Shepherd by John Rutter for this recording.

Dominus Illuminatio Mea - The motto of the University of Oxford provides the inspiration for this album of a cappella choral classics performed by one of the greatest choirs in a city of great choirs. Includes a brand new arrangement of the famous Inspector Morse theme tune by Barrington Pheloung in this 25th Anniversary year of Oxford’s most famous fictional detective.

On this track recorded during the Maria sessions Cecilia Bartoli is accompanied by a fantastic period practice orchestra, Orchestra La Scintilla.

After her critically acclaimed Handel album, Danielle de Niese returns with a feast of Mozart’s most beautiful arias.

Her partnership with Sir Charles Mackerras lends her the wise and authoritative support of one of the great modern heroes of Mozart performance style and practice. It’s an added bonus that in the only duet on this album — “Là ci darem la mano” from Don Giovanni — Danielle is reunited after ten years with the great Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, who had also been in the Figaro in which she made her Met debut.
