Luca Guglielmi (harpsichord & organ) Frescobaldi is considered to be the grand master of harpsichord and organ music during the Italian Baroque. He was also master of the so-called stylus fantasticus, which allowed great freedom in tempo and structure. It demanded an interpretation which gave the impression that the artist was improvising in performance. Luca Guglielmi demonstrates the artistry of these compositions. “He adopts a flexible approach to tempo throughout, while utilizing a broad range of articulation to clarify musical structures and textures...[a] wonderful and even thought-provoking disc” International Record Review, June 2012 “this is the kind of recording which works on the level of intellectual and historical enquiry, as well as being a highly enjoyable listen. There is always an exploratory feel to Frescobaldi’s keyboard music, and Luca Gugliemi walks the line between rhythmic freedom and adherence to the text with skilful aplomb.” MusicWeb International, July 2012 | | | (also available to download from $10.50) | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days.
