Letitia Singleton (Dinah); Sebastien Lemoine (Sam); Céline Victores-Benavente, Philippe Do,Vincent Ordonneau (trio); David Guerrier (trumpet); Anne Clément (cor anglais) Orchestre de Picardie, Pascal Verrot Trouble in Tahiti is a brief 'opera' of 40 minutes by Leonard
Bernstein who wrote both text and music. The work can be
considered to represent the seedy underside of the
enchanted dreams of Broadway and Hollywood.
The cast is restricted to two characters and a vocal trio
which comments on the action like a Greek chorus. Scored
for a small orchestra, it provides both continuity and contrast
between the elegant jazzy passages for the vocal trio and the
arias or duets conveying the middle-class distress of the two
protagonists. | | | In stock - usually despatched within 1 working day. |
