Ramon Jaffé (violoncello) & Andreas Froelich This disc of works by Grieg for cello and piano shows the composer at his most romantic. It also includes arrangements by the performers themselves of Grieg’s little-known songs. The two musicians interpret Grieg’s Cello Sonata op. 36, a work in which the composer fully exploits the instruments register, and the Intermezzo in A minor, a work first published in 1979 and probably representing the first movement of a suite for cello and piano that Grieg left unfinished. | |
