Gottlieb Wallisch, who has captivated audiences from many of the world’s major concert platforms, impressed the critics with his superb interpretations of Mozart’s Viennese repertoire.

This, his second solo album on Linn, further explores Mozart’s rich piano repertoire of works associated with Paris and Vienna, many of which raised the standard for technical virtuosity.

Gottlieb displays a profound understanding of the music of his fellow Austrian, as well as his impressive technical and interpretative skills.

Born into a family of Viennese musicians, Gottlieb Wallisch is a competition prizewinner and a respected artist in the Viennese piano tradition.

Gottlieb Wallisch has performed with many leading orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony, the Stuttgart Chamber and the Zagreb Philharmonic.

Gottlieb participated in the international cycle "Rising Stars" and gave solo recitals in Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthus-Stockholm, Societé Philharmonique in Brussels, the Athens Concert Hall and the Carnegie Hall, New York. Numerous concert tours have also led him to Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.

The Austrian ORF, Radio France International and BBC London have recorded numerous radio and television performances with him.

At the age of ten Zhu Xiao-Mei entered the Peking Conservatory where her brilliant studies were interrupted by the years of the Cultural Revolution. She was sent to a re-education camp on the border of Inner Mongolia for five years. On returning to Peking, she completed her studies and left China as soon as the regime gave its first signs of opening to the outside world. In 1980 she emigrated to the United States, settling in Paris in 1984. Zhu Ziao-Mei gives few concerts, appearing in public usually to perform demanding works: ‘mountains of the soul’.

Four members of the internationally renowned Afflatus (Wind) Quintet from the Czech Republic perform arrangements by Bok, Vester, and Muclinger of chamber music by Beethoven and Mozart on a new hybrid SACD.

Afflatus Quartet derives from Afflatus (Wind) Quintet, the winner of one of the most prestigious chamber music competitions in the world, the International Music Competition of the ARD Munich 1997. With Radek Baborak, the world famous horn player and Afflatus member taking a "vacation" from the ensemble, the four remaining members, each of which is an active soloist throughout Europe and especially in Czech Republic, have produced an album that features classical repertoire by Beethoven and Mozart in arrangements for wind quartet. The disc includes versions of Beethoven’s String Quartet No.1 by Bok, and Adagio and Allegro, Wo0.33 by Vester, alongside those of Mozart’s Fantasie in F minor, K608, Andante in F major, K.616, and Adagio and Allegro in F minor, K.594 by Munclinger.

This fine Norman and Beard Organ stands untouched in Wellington Town Hall in New Zealand. Douglas Mews, the Town hall organist plays an exciting progamme of little recorded music to suit this fabulous instrument.

The world renowned organ player Daniel Chorzempa plays the choir organ of the abbey church of Wilhering. He is joined by the German Bach Soloists a world-renowned, Baroque-period instrumental ensemble led by the German conductor and oboist, Helmut Winschermann, who founded the chamber orchestra in 1960.

At the 2006 ARD International Music Competition in Munich, the Chantily Quartet was awarded the second prize, the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work and the Audience Prize. Since then the ensemble has risen rapidly to an elite position within the chamber music scene.
