“Much of the music on this excellent recording was composed during Tomkins's final decade, before his death in 1656 in relative obscurity... At all times, the Oxford Camerata, led by Jeremy Summerly, sing with the clarity and purity of voice demanded by the music.” Tarik O' Regan, The Observer, 16th January 2000 | | | (also available to download from $6.00) | In stock - usually despatched within 1 working day. |

| | | Two Oxford Organs
Gerard Brooks (Willis Organ of Oxford Town Hall), Geoffrey Webber (Organ of Magdalen College, Oxford) This CD combines two recordings of the 1980s both made in Oxford. The first was an LP of Oxford Town Hall which was Gerard Brooks first recording for Priory of orchestral transcriptions (PR 186). The second was a cassette only issue of the new Mander organ in Magdalen College ( PRC 209). Due to space restrictions only about half of this recital is included. A CD then of contrasts and still, to our knowledge, the only commercial recording of the Town Hall Willis. “a lovely performance of Pachelbel's Ciacona in F minor.” BBC Music Magazine, January 2013 *** | | | Usually despatched in 8 - 10 working days. |

| | | A Bridge to Bach
“The pre-Bach keyboard composers featured in this program share an improvisatory sensibility and sense of playfulness that not only lend themselves to a modern concert grand but also can absorb Andrew Rangell's freewheeling temperament and dynamic, big-boned pianism. His opening selection, Orlando Gibbons' Lord of Salisbury Pavane and Galliard, conveys a three-dimensional, theatrical effect that completely differs from Glenn Gould's x-ray clarity and astringent textures in the same work.” Classics Today | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |
