| | | Martinu, Lutoslawski & Rachmaninoff: Works for Cello and Piano
Andrés Diaz (cello) Judith Gordon (piano) Cellist, Andrés Díaz, pairs with The Boston Globe's “Musician of the Year,” pianist Judith Gordon, to pay tribute to the late Samuel Sanders. Three separate chamber pieces from Bohuslav Martinu, Witold Lutoslawski, and Sergei Rachmaninoff create an exciting survey of the various styles of twentieth-century composition. All Eastern Europeans, none of the composers emulate the other stylistically, but rather create and shape their own distinct works. The concept of emotional expressions ties each piece together thematically; communicativeness is the quality that lets these three works, as a group, speak to an audience with telling effect. **The Classical Recording Foundation 2003 Award Winner** | | | Usually despatched in 4 - 6 working days. |
