Kirsten Flagstad, Lotte Lehmann, Kathryn Meisle, Friedrich Schorr, Emanuel List Fritz Reiner Recorded San Francisco, 13 November, 1936 "The performance on this disk," writes critic Arthur Bloomfield in his liner notes, " was conducted by a profound Wagnerian capable of producing with the famous micro-movements of his vest-pocket beat a glow, finesse and structural integrity only approximated by his predecessor [Artur Bodanzky] ." This is the only recorded example of the collaboration of Flagstad and Lehmann as Brünnhilde and Sieglinde respectively. "Even more perhaps than Flagstad's gorgeous Brünnhilde", Bloomfield goes on to say, "Lehmann's ultra-warm, hair-raising Sieglinde set a standard by which a particular leading Wagnerian role has been measured ever since." | | | Usually despatched in 4 - 6 working days. |
