This new album recollects and celebrates some of the choral music heard on royal occasions during the lifetime of HM Elizabeth II. The music chosen reflects the personal choices and commission by the Royal Family for weddings, funerals, and anniversaries. Featuring John Rutter’s celebratory royal wedding anthem This is the day, written for the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in 2011. Newly orchestrated exclusively for this recording, it reminds us of the event that captivated the attention of the nation last year. The CD also includes a new arrangement for unaccompanied choir of the Londonderry Air to the text I would be true, and an orchestration of Schubert’s beautiful Psalm 23 - The Lord is my Shepherd by John Rutter for this recording. “Elin Manahan Thomas is impressive with her poise and limpidity...The Cambridge Singers, outstandingly fresh and communicative throughout under John Rutter's expert, energising direction, excel particularly in a superbly buoyant, incisive performance of the 'Choral Dances' from Britten's Gloriana...Of its type, this is a virtually unimproveable collection.” BBC Music Magazine, September 2012 ***** “it's all beautifully sung. Elin Manahan Thomas performs Mozart's Laudate Dominum with effortless grace, whilst the Cambridge Singers are chameleon-like in their ability to take on different musical styles...Light, joyous, and beautifully performed, this is sacred choral easy listening of the highest standard.” Charlotte Gardner, bbc.co.uk, 16th May 2012 | | | In stock - usually despatched within 1 working day. |

| | | A Year at Winchester
The second in the new series from Regent charting a musical journey through the church’s year at well-loved cathedrals. The Choir of Winchester Cathedral is regarded as one of the world’s finest choirs. This journey in music features music appropriate to the main seasons of the church’s year, including first recordings of two works by Donald Sweeney, and the original version of John Rutter’s ‘Winchester Te Deum’ written for the Choir of Winchester Cathedral. Features both the boy and girl choristers and men of the choir. “'Hail, gladdening light'...[is] given with confidence, firm tuning, clear diction and phrasing and even a little drama, the excellent of the performances masking just how difficult it can be to make this sort of music work well.” International Record Review, March 2012 “An auspicious start to what should prove a major collection of choral recordings.” Gramophone Magazine, May 2012 | | | Usually despatched in 4 - 5 working days. |

| | | Rise HeartRomantic English Choral Works by Elgar, Parry, Stanford and Vaughan Williams
Worcester Cathedral Chamber Choir, Stephen Shellard The second release on Regent from Worcester Cathedral Chamber Choir. Released to celebrate the centenary of the first performance of Five Mystical Songs in the 1911 Three Choirs Festival at Worcester. This disc frames that well-loved masterpiece by Vaughan Williams with works by Elgar, Parry, and Stanford, with some rarities including Elgar’s Memorial Ode for Queen Alexandra, and three settings of O salutaris hostia. “Elgar's Memorial Ode for Queen Alexandra of 1932, practically unknown until its recent revival, emerges under Shellard's direction as much more than an exercise in nostalgia. Choir, conductor and organist also tease out turbulent emotions from below the elegiac surface of the same composer's The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.” Classic FM Magazine, November 2011 *** | | | Usually despatched in 4 - 5 working days. |
