Nicky Spence (Tenor)
Scottish tenor Nicky Spence was born in Dumfries in 1983 and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; whilst still a student he was signed by Universal Music and released two crossover albums before returning to full-time study at the National Opera Studio and going on to become a Harewood Young Artist at English National Opera. Subsequent engagements have include Alwa in Berg’s Lulu and David Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (both for ENO), Jaquino in Fidelio and Števa in Janáček’s Jenůfa (Opera Holland Park), and Le Chevalier de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites (Grange Park Opera).
