Announcement, New Streaming Service Features!

First of all, we would like to thank those who have tried Presto Music streaming, the classical and jazz streaming service that we launched early this year. We’ve been hugely encouraged by all the feedback that we have received, and by the subscriber numbers which have been building steadily ever since.

Subscribers will have noticed regular updates to the Android, iOS and web apps, with improved functionality and new features being added regularly. This feels like a good moment to round up some of the more exciting features added over the last few months.

Recently played albums - We actually added this back in June, which allows you to find all your recently played albums about halfway down the home page.

Pre-releases - Labels increasingly allow one or more tracks to be listened to in advance of the release date of the whole album. You’ll find these now on the home page (and elsewhere) with the ‘coming soon’ sash on the corner of the cover. If you like what you hear, you can add the album to your collection to make it easy to find once the official release date arrives.

Curated playlists - We’re very excited to add curated playlists. So far we’ve created separate new release ones for classical and jazz (updated every Friday) and a few unique special ones - I’d particularly recommend checking out the “extremely re-imagined” version of Bach’s Goldberg Variations which my brilliant colleague David compiled. Watch this space - there is lots more to come in this area.

BluOS integration - If you are a BluOS user you will now find a custom integration to Presto Music within the BluOS Controller Apps. For those not already familiar with BluOS, it is a system which allows certain wireless speakers and streamers to function independently or add streaming functionality to an existing Hi-Fi set-up, with their most popular device being the Node streamer. BluOS is the only system to fully support both multi-room and Hi-Res audio streaming. A good starting place for more information is: https://www.bluesound.com/
